Free Pattern – Easter Eggs

Fancy up your Easter decor with The Royal Court! I created them with a theme of, well, the royal court. The design of each egg symbolises the clothing styles the people present in the court. This free pattern is also available on my Instagram page.

Materials

1. 4 ply yarn in navy and white
2. 2.5 m.m. crochet hook
3. yarn needle
4. fiberfill
5. scissors
6. stitch markers

1. The Courtier

With navy yarn,
1. Magic circle, 6sc [6]
2. *inc* 6 times [12]
3. *sc, inc* 6 times [18]
4. - 5. sc all around [18]
6. *2sc, inc* 6 times [24]
7. sc all around [24]
8. *3sc, inc* 6 times [30]
9. - 10. sc all around [30]

Change colour to white. Don’t cut the navy yarn.
11. - 13. sc all around [30]

Change colour to navy.
14. - 15. sc all around [30]
16. *3sc, dec* 6 times [24]
17. *2sc, dec* 6 times [18]
18. *sc, dec* 6 times [12]
19. *dec* 6 times [6]
Close the hole and hide the tail end.

With white yarn, embroider a dashed line  above the stripe.

2. The Jester

With white yarn,
1. Magic circle, 6sc [6]
2. *inc* 6 times [12]
3. *sc, inc* 6 times [18]
4. - 5. sc all around [18]
6. *2sc, inc* 6 times [24]
7. sc all around [24]
8. *3sc, inc* 6 times [30]
9. - 11. sc all around [30]

Change colour to navy.
12. BLO sc all around [30]
13. - 15. sc all around [30]
16. *3sc, dec* 6 times [24]
17. *2sc, dec* 6 times [18]
18. *sc, dec* 6 times [12]
19. *dec* 6 times [6]
Close the hole and hide the tail end.
French Knots
With navy yarn,
embroider some French knots.
I have made 4 knots every two rows-
they can be staggered all over the
white portion of the egg.

Frill
Attach white yarn to the BLO of round 11.
Chain 1, (doesn’t count as a stitch)
5sc in each stitch [150]
Join to the first chain stitch.
Fasten off and hide the tail.

3. The Prince

With white yarn,
1. Magic circle, 6sc [6]
2. *inc* 6 times [12]
3. *sc, inc* 6 times [18]
4. - 5. sc all around [18]

Change colour to navy. Don’t cut the white.
6. *2sc, inc* 6 times [24]

Change colour to white. Don’t cut the navy.
7. BLO sc all around [24]

Pick up the navy yarn.
8. BLO *3sc, inc* 6 times [30]
9. sc all around [24]

Pick up the white yarn.
10. - 13. sc all around [30]
Pick up the navy yarn.
14.- 15. sc all around [30]
Pick up the white yarn.
16. *3sc, dec* 6 times [24]
Pick up the navy yarn.
17. BLO *2sc, dec* 6 times [18]

Pick up the white yarn. Fasten off the navy.
18. BLO *sc, dec* 6 times [12]
19. *dec* 6 times [6]
Fasten off and close the hole.

Embroidery
With navy yarn,
from row 10 to 13, embroider vertical lines three
stitches apart. Embroider a cross in the spaces
between the lines as shown.
Fasten off and hide the tails.
